چکیده
Avian influenza is a zoonotic disease that can adversely affect humans and animals. Nigeria first reported an outbreak of avian which was caused by subtype H5N1 in 2006, thereafter virological serological surveys revealed the importance local birds live bird markets community at large epidemiology country. In present study, 276 serum samples were collected for testing over five months from apparently healthy within two Local Government Areas Plateau State, to determine antibody prevalence A virus. The detection carried out using Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay further tested haemagglutination inhibition specific serotype result showed 30.4% (n=84) A, 26% (n=72) H9, 1.4% (n=4) H7, none confirmed be H5 serotype. Comparatively, Jos-North had lower relative risk with 18.9% (n=18) as compared Jos-South 36.5% (n=66). This study presence low pathogenic virus area dominance antibodies H9. Prevalence of Avian Influenza in Live Bird Markets, Bird Gardens, and Zoos in Iran in 2015: A Cross-sectional Study
Avian Influenza (AI) H9N2 is endemic in Iran; therefore, it is necessary to estimate the disease prevalence among birds in live bird markets (LBMs) and assess the risk spread across the country. Accordingly, this study aimed to estimate the prevalence of AI subtypes in LBMs, bird gardens, and zoos during October and November 2015 in Iran and investigate the associated risk factors. Data related...

Although migratory waterfowl is well known to be a major reservoir for avian influenza virus (AIV), there are only few recently published reports about the seroprevalence of AIV in this group of birds. To investigate the AIV antibody status in migratory waterfowl of Iran, we collected 217 serum samples from 25 different species of waterfowl during 2003 and 2004. These serum samples were teste...

A surveillance program for influenza A viruses (H5N1) was conducted in live bird and food markets in central Thailand during July 2006-August 2007. Twelve subtype H5N1 viruses were isolated. The subtype H5N1 viruses circulating in the markets were genetically related to those that circulated in Thailand during 2004-2005.
